Amicus Technology is pleased to announce its appointment as a reseller in Ireland for UK-based TRL Software’s range of Traffic analysis products including ARCADY, PICADY, OSCADY PRO, TRANSYT and TRANSYT VISSIM.
As an experienced provider of Civil engineering software and services to government, local authorities, consulting engineers and contractors, we aim to provide a valuable link to users and potential users of TRL software.
Gavin Jackman, Head of Traffic and Software at TRL, says: “Despite the tough economic climate, TRL Software continues to expand worldwide and with a range of exciting new products and releases including ARCADY7, and PERS3, it continues to be a dynamic time for us.”
ARCADY 7 is a modernised and updated version of TRL’s popular, internationally-renowned, software program for the assessment of roundabout capacity and delay. Prediction of capacity, queues, delays and accident risk at non-signalised roundabouts.
PICADY 5 is a computer program for predicting capacities, queue lengths and delays (both queueing and geometric) at non-signalised major/minor priority junctions. It is an aid to designing new junctions as well as assessing the effects of modifying existing designs.
OSCADY PRO is a phase-based traffic signal optimisation program. Optimises signal timings at isolated signal controlled junctions
TRANSYT 14 (& TRANSYT-VISSIM Link) is used by hundreds of consultancies and local authorities around the world. It is an off-line computer program for determining and studying optimum fixed-time co-ordinated traffic signal timings in any network of roads for which the average traffic flows are known.

StreetAudit – Assesses the quality of street environments (PERS – Pedestrian, CERS – Cyclists, FERS – Freight....)
SCOOT – On line optimisation of signalised networks. Adaptive, responds automatically to traffic fluctuations. It does away with the need for signal plans. For managing traffic on signalised road networks, now used in over 170 towns and cities worldwide
MOVA – Adaptive optimisation strategy for control of signals at isolated signalised junctions (where links between junctions are greater than approx. 500m). Can also be used at stand-alone pedestrian crossings. Currently well over 3000 sites equipped with MOVA with over 200 installations annually. A number of linked schemes have also been installed.
PCMOVA – MOVA software to be used within a PC environment with VISSIM or S Paramics to trial signal configuration changes prior to implementation
DRUM – Traffic management system during construction/ roadworks
IMTRAC – Online database of information management for traffic controllers, with map capability to locate specific sit information.
HDM - technical and economic appraisal of road investment projects, standards and strategies.
COBA/ QUADRO - Detailed cost appraisal tools that assess relative costs/benefits of road improvement schemes and roadworks.
As a reseller of Autodesk and related civil engineering products and an Autodesk Authorised training and exam centre and City & Guilds exam centre, Amicus Technology are now even better placed to support Irish road designers.
